What Other Drivers Are Saying
“During my time with this watch, I took it with me on a drive around the New York and New Jersey area, in a red 1966 Ford Mustang. There was something very fitting about pairing a 1960s-era chronograph designed to time automobiles, with a car of the same era. The only difference here was that the engine inside the Mustang was original (and it sounded original, trust me) while the movement inside the Zenith was the most current iteration of the classic caliber 400 from ’69.
While it could be easy to mistake this entire watch for a 1969 El Primero, especially inside the Mustang convertible, it’s the dial that reminds you otherwise.”

Warwick Winery June 2021
The day started with a lazy drive up to the folks at Tuxedo Motorsport, who had kindly organized the day.
It was great to get a feel for the car. That big V8 making sure there was enough power when we needed and purred along at low rev’s. Just as the great V-8’s from Ford always have done.
A quick stop and a chat before the main part of the journey began.
The journey to Warwick Winery was about 40 miles. Taking in the Seven Lakes and Bear Mountain. Needless to say, when you are driving a convertible in gorgeous weather with the backdrop of sparkling lakes, smiles were not hard to come by.
25 cars in the convoy, it was as if we had been transported back 50 years to a time where motoring was a pleasure and the joy was shared.
Twisting roads though small villages. All the time a friendly wave from hikers and other motorists. You don’t get to see so many beautiful Mustangs on the roads. Heads always turn.
What a great day with great friends, topped off with a chilled glass of wine and a taste of the Warwick Cider!
As for the Mustang. It ran perfectly. The temperature in the engine didn’t go beyond 1/3 way on the gauge, even when standing at lights in 90deg heat.
Fuel economy was just fine. The car didn’t miss a beat.
The brakes were perfect, all in the knowledge it’s 1966 engineering.
The additional bluetooth sound system is perfect to play your own music.
There was no need to use the powered convertible hood as the day was glorious.
Once home, with a full tank of gas, we said a quick thank you and reminisced on a day worth remembering.
